Visions in Methodology

28 – 30
HERTIE SCHOOL

VIM supports women scholars in political methodology through networking, mentoring, and professional development. The organization aims to address underrepresentation of women in this academic field and provides a unique platform for scholars to present research in a friendly, positive environment while receiving critical feedback.

Origins & Mission

Visions in Methodology was established based on recommendations from the National Academy of Sciences report, the APSA Workshop on the Advancement of Women in Academic Political Science, and the 2006 Political Methodology Long Range Strategic Planning Committee Report.

Since 2008, VIM has hosted conferences bringing together women scholars in political methodology. Each conference provides opportunities to discuss career-focused issues across ranks and to network in a supportive, collaborative environment. VIM 2026 continues this tradition of excellence in Berlin.
